Apfelmarkt

The Afelmarkt happens each year over this weekend in October.  I suspect it originated as a harvest festival event for the local region but has grown into what is probably best described as a country fayre.

It was much bigger than we expected and already very busy with visitors on its first afternoon open. According to the reception here at the campsite the two weekend days include more 'activities' as she put it.  It was plenty busy enough for us today!

There were lots of artisan food growers/makers/suppliers at various stalls all around a large grassed area and also inside several very large well organised marquees. Lots of apples of course, and every imaginable apple product, most of the alcoholic variety, and some packing a fair punch at 40+% proof, Mr G sampled a couple of offerings!

Mr G has taken up his secondary duty since we left Lake Garda as chief photographer (hence more photos!) :-)

The entertainment - we were spared a rendition - it looked suspiciously like an oompah band!

Many were in traditional attire, didn't notice any thigh slapping although it was still early - mind you there was plenty of huge steins on the go so it was only a matter of time!

Once we returned 'home' I swum again, I love swimming outdoors, such a treat.  The sun was still very warm but I watched the leaves falling as I swum up and down! Very refreshing.

Yesterday our solicitor sent us some documents to be approved.  At first we thought, no, we are on holiday, we need to relax, it can wait and emailed as much to her.  However, we found it wasn't relaxing knowing they were 'there'!  So, we hooked up the printer again and sorted out the queries this morning.  Hopefully this is all the contact we'll have now until we return to Scotland.

Tomorrow the bikes will come off the back and we aim to cycle to a local lake nestled in the hills you can see in some of the background of the recent photos.

Until tomorrow ...
